The concepts in the architectural sculpture and design of the freestanding furniture is represented as a subset to the architecture of the church, its size, shape, and overall decoration. The worship space appointments and the design of the furniture have a specific purpose to support the liturgy.  Many times, scriptural reference and Catholic tradition is found in the decorative embellishment of these pieces.

The columns and sectional moldings of my designs find their roots from Greek and Roman Architecture as an example.  The  use of leaves, flowers and vines have symbolic meanings associated with them. These details are Freund Custom Furnishings specialty of design.  The recreation and development of these features are intended to educate, evangelize and inspire in harmony within the vast array of church environments.

Unfortunately, the practice of these principles has declined with the advent of architectural modernism around the 1940s which has lessened the beauty and hindered the praise and Glory to God for the sake of what has been called innovation.  It is my focus to improve upon and assist in the development of these traditional designs that allow for the integrated sculpture of allegorical pediments that complement the richness of our Catholic traditions to inspire, educate and evangelize those seeking a greater relationship with God through the mass.
